Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked all member nations for making India’s chairmanship a grand success. Addressing the summit, he said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your active contribution and support in making India’s BRICS chairmanship a success. Key Highlights of the Very Successful Meeting:

Modi and Xi welcomed steady progress since their Tianjin meeting in 2025 and stressed peace in border areas. Modi and Putin also toured the INNOPROM exhibition together after their bilateral.

3. New Global Economic Order Push: Leaders including Modi, Putin and Iran’s Pezeshkian pushed for a new global economic order and greater trade in local currencies, giving more voice to developing nations.

4. Expanded BRICS Power: Founded in 2006 as BRIC, the bloc now has 11 nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, UAE and new members – representing nearly half the world’s population.

China appreciated India’s support for its BRICS chairship and contributions towards the success of the summit.

The summit is being hailed as India’s most successful showcase of Global South leadership.
