Jaishankar: US Risks Becoming a “Lonelier Superpower” Amid Shifting Global Alliance

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has warned that the United States could increasingly find itself a “lonelier superpower” as the global order undergoes profound changes and countries pursue more independent foreign-policy choices.

Jaishankar highlighted the growing importance of a multipolar world, where nations are seeking greater strategic autonomy rather than aligning permanently with any single major power.

He said the evolving international landscape requires countries to build partnerships based on national interests, flexibility and mutual benefit. India, he emphasized, will continue to engage with the US while simultaneously strengthening ties with other major powers and emerging economies.

The remarks come as geopolitical tensions, trade disputes and competing strategic interests reshape relationships among the world’s major powers.
